It is our goal to find and/or create new items in the Veterinary industry that will make life easier for both Veterinarians and Technicians alike.  We are very excited about offering you the Scruffer!  How does it work?  Similar to a mother tiger grasping her kittens in her mouth to move them, and that action releasing a soothing endorphine, this gentle clamp simulates that 'grasp' and will help you maintain control of a feline without risk of harming delicate tissues. 

Dr. Jantzen, DVM of Las Vegas, NM wrote in these various ways he has used the Scruffer in his clinic;

1. Scruffing a cat
2. Holding back tender skin and tissue when suturing
3. Hold skin together during stapling
4. Hold an animal's tongue during surgery.  (First wrap tongue in gauze, then clamp)
5. Quickly clamp an I.V. line, then release without having to readjust the flow
6. Help deliver/pull baby kittens and puppies without injury
7. Microscope slide holder.  (Use the clamp to hold the slide, stain slide, then hang to dry)
8. Clamp onto X-Ray Film without damaging the image
9. If wearing OB/GYN gloves (large animal work), clamp a scruffer at the cuff to shoulders
